Getting to Alton Tower By Train
Visitors can choose to arrive at Stoke-on-Trent or Uttoxeter by train.
Stoke-on-Trent is approximately 15 miles away, with direct trains from major cities like London (2 hours), Manchester (45 minutes), and Birmingham (1 hour). Uttoxeter is around 10 miles from the park, with regular services from Derby and Crewe. Shuttle buses operate from Stoke-on-Trent and Uttoxeter stations during peak times. Check the Alton Towers website for current schedules.
We stayed in Uttoxeter at the wonderful White Hart Hotel. We planned to take the bus from the train station to the park in the morning but found it more flexible to hire an Uber. The ride from Uttoxeter took about 15 minutes and cost about £22.
